When the Church hymnal was completed in 1985, Wayne Hooper and Edward E. White immediately began work on another related project, the compiling and writing of a resource book containing information about each hymn and biographies of selected writers and composers who were represented by five or more hymns. The resulting reference, Companion to the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal, was published in 1988. Copies of this reference book can be purchased at or ordered through any Adventist Book Store.
