Rosalie Contreras
Rosalie Contreras is
Vice-President of Marketing, Communications, and Customer Care with the Seattle
Symphony, a position she has held since 2010. Prior to that appointment she
served as Publicity Manager for the symphony for ten years.
Contreras graduated from
Walla Walla College, now University, in 2007 with a B.A. and majors in business
administration and music, with flute as her performance area. During her senior
year she served an internship in the local symphony, which led her to her
decision to pursue a career in arts administration.
She completed an MBA and took
additional work in arts management at the University of Cincinnati, graduating
in 1999. During her study at UC, she did an internship in the office of the
Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in the summer of 1998 that led to a regular
position with the orchestra in public relations that fall and to the offer from
the Seattle Symphony in 2000.
As Director of
Communications, Contreras oversees all aspects of public relations including marketing,
publications, and media relationships and online social activities. She also is
responsible for customer service and the building of relationships with
audiences.
