Lorena Filip
A Romanian native, Lorena Filip completed a master’s degree in piano performance in 2004 under Peter Cooper at Andrews University, where she also served as an adjunct Instructor in Piano and a graduate teaching assistant in music history. She had a large piano studio at nearby Ruth Murdoch Elementary School and was a pianist/organist and choir director for the First Congregational Church in South Haven.
Filip received a B.A. in Music at the Music University in Bucharest, Romania, where she studied piano with Florella Geanta. She was a recipient of an AU Department of Music Scholarship at Andrews University and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Filip has performed extensively, primarily as a chamber musician and accompanist in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. She has recorded four CD's, with repertoire drawn from classical, religious, and Romanian folk music.
