Gabriela-Anca Baciu Vincent
Gabriela-Anca
Baciu Vincent, a native of Romania, is currently the
co-manager for one of the Ann Taylor stores in Indiana and in training for
store management. An accomplished musician, she earned music degrees in Romania
and the U.S.
She attended the High School
of the Arts in Lasi, Romania, from 1992-1995 and then
attended the George Enescu University of the Arts,
where she completed a BA in choral conducting and piano in 2000. She also
graduated with a degree in theology at the Adventist Theological Institute in
Bucharest.
From 1996-2001, Vincent
conducted the Pro Musica Chorale in Romania, a choir
that won numerous awards in national music competitions and produced two
recordings (www.intercer.net/promusica). Also a composer, she won first
prize in 1997 and in 2001 at the National Music Contests in Ploiesti and
Brasov, respectively.
In 2001, following completion
of a master's degree in choral conducting at the National University of Music
in Bucharest, she came to the U.S., where she received a Performer's
Certificate in organ from La Sierra University. A member of the American Guild
of Organists, she worked as a minister of music at Pomona Adventist Church in
Pomona, California, and also at the First Baptist Church in Corona. She also
taught group and private lessons in piano.
While residing in California,
Vincent released a CD featuring the 2001 Christmas Concert presented by the
First Congregational Church in Riverside and was the accompanist on a recording
featuring Hugh Roland, soloist.
