Elwyn Friend Ardourel
1926
- 1997
Elwyn Ardourel
joined the Voice of Prophecy King's Herald's quartet as first tenor in 1949,
while still a pre-dental student. Bob Edwards, a member of the quartet, would
later observe that Ardourel had "a great voice
and was a fine musician." Although he sang briefly in the VOP quartet,
leaving when he became aware of the turmoil that was occurring in the music
program at that time, he later participated in the King's Herald's fortieth
anniversary concerts in 1978.
He completed his studies in dentistry
and established a practice in Denver, Colorado, where he was a dentist for 34
years (1954 -1988).
Born in Boulder, Colorado, he
was raised by his mother, Bernice Ethel Friend Ardourel
(Johnson). He married Evelyn M. Poppe in 1946 and
they would have two daughters and a son. Ardourel was
living in Denver at the time of his death at age 71.
