Carol Klooster Moore

1919 - 1997

Carol Klooster Moore, a pianist, taught in three Seventh-day Adventist schools for six years. Born in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, she graduated from Emmanuel Missionary College, now Andrews University, in 1942 with a B.A. in music. She chaired the music department at Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado, for two years before going to Pacific Union College, where she taught for two years, 1944-46, during the time her father, Henry J. Klooster, was president of the college.

After teaching piano from 1946 to 1948 at Washington Missionary College, now Washington Adventist University, she moved to New York City, continuing her studies and playing frequently in live concerts on radio and television and in SDA churches. She married John Moore in December 1961 and was living in NYC at the time of her death.
